#ManeCrushMonday w/ Dominique
Happy Monday!
Here's a snippet into Dominique's life:
"I’m a 25 year old Rehab Therapist from Long Island, New York. I love embracing my curly hair and inspiring others to do the same."- Dominique
Mane Style: How long have you been natural?
Dominique: I started transitioning in August of 2013 and became fully natural in June of 2014. I’ve been fully natural for almost 2 1/2 years!
MS: What are your go-to hairstyles?
D: I loooooove the wash and go! It’s super easy for me and I finally figured out what combination of products worked for me.
MS: Do you have any holy-grail hair products?
D: So far the only product I seem to be purchasing over and over again is Eco Styler gel! I can use it as an edge control and a styler AND it’s very affordable!
MS: Describe your personal style?
D: One word: Simple. I wear a lot of basics and jazz it up with accessories.
MS: What clothing store(s) could we find you in, mostly?
D: Target and TJ Maxx! I can spend all day in those stores!
MS: If you couldn’t live without one thing in your closet what would it be?
D: Definitely my ripped boyfriend jeans. They are so comfortable and you can dress them up or down!
MS: Does your outfit for the day reflect how you wear your hair? Or vice versa?
At times yes! If my outfit is care free and simple I’m most likely wearing a wild wash and go!
MS: Just for fun, who are your top three #WCW or just women who inspire you?
D: Ava Duvernay, Michelle Obama, Rihanna
MS: If you could share one of piece advice with readers, whether it be about style or hair, what would it be?
D: I definitely advise everyone to be the best version of themselves. Our self-esteem influences our fashion sense, hair and our confidence to embrace all that we are! I used to be such a follower of trends because I wanted to do what everyone else was doing. I finally decided to embrace my own style even if that meant it was different from others.
